Orange TV – a platform with 100 channels, many in HD format and in premiere

Orange yesterday announced it entry on the Romanian TV market, with services that will be broadcast both by satellite and by internet to PCs, laptops and – soon – also tablets, via the 4G mobile network, informs a press release. The leader of the mobile telephony market will provide 100 TV channels, including 40 in HD format, more than any other DTH platform in Romania, and out of these 26 are provided in premiere on the local market. Starting Monday, users can choose a 12 or 24 month contract at Orange shop, and in the Orange stores throughout the country. The price for a 24-month subscription starts from EUR 5 (VAT included), depending on the chosen plan, plus the taxes for the equipment and operationalization of the service. Orange phone plan customers will enjoy a discount up to 30 pc to the package they opt for, along with free installing. The cost of a subscription may vary between EUR 3.5 and 9.6 (VAT included). Customers can choose one of the three available plans, Local HD, World HD or Universe HD, depending on the channels they are interested in.
Orange Romania booked this service through GlobeCast, which is providing a complete solution to bring Orange Romania’s channels to the point of uplink and prepare them for broadcast on capacity that GlobeCast has leased from SES.
