Romanian companies lose Lugoj-Deva motorway contract

The association of Romanian companies SC Tehnostrade SRL-SC Spedition UMB SRL, controlled by the businessman Dorinel Umbrarescu, has lost the contract for the construction of 22.14 km of the Lugoj-Deva motorway, lot 4, after a contestation filed by the Austrian group Strabag and sustained by the National Council for the Settlement of Contestations (CNSC), hotnews.ro informs. The Council has decided that the procedure for the award and evaluation of bids for the 22-km lot with an estimated value of RON 1 bn would be redone. The contract awarded in March to UMB was one of a series of there contacts given for three lots of the Lugoj-Deva motorway, decision made by the authorities with a big delay, nine months after closing the tendering.
