EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn visits Romania

EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn will be in Romania tomorrow to attend, together with the Prime Minister of Romania and the President of Bulgaria, the inauguration of the “Calafat-Vidin”– bridge, an EU funded cross-border project, europa.eu informs. Afterwards he will visit the innovative technology project “LASER ELI-NP” in Magurele. The visit will also be an opportunity to discuss with other Ministers and political representatives the implementation of structural funds under the current financial framework as well as the preparations for the forthcoming funding period. Sources said for Mediafax that PM Ponta invited also BNR Governor, Mugur Isarescu, at the inauguration of the Calafat-Vidin bridge and he accepted. The invitation was addressed as the agreement between Romania and Bulgaria for the construction of the bridge was signed in March 2000, when Isarescu was Prime-Minister.
