Media: TISE visit to Victoria Palace could be a matter of days

PM Ponta is working on the last details of a meeting with the management of Russian giant TISE, sources close to the situation say, according to bursa.ro. The TISE management is expected to Victoria Palace in the next couple of days, the sources further say, also noting: ‘The premier is waiting for an answer regarding the date of the visit which is supposed to be a discreet one. TISE management do not want a press event. The Government will most likely issue a release’. Although many tie TISE’s interest in Romania to the privatisation of Oltchim (the Russian company made a preliminary offer a year ago but did not show for the final stage of the auction in the autumn), it seems that the Russian have lost interest in Oltchim, according to the quoted sources.
TISE wanted the Valcea-based plant, but only in combination with the oil logistic in Constanta Port (OIL Terminal), Conpet, Arpechim refinery as well as electricity and thermal energy sources for Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea and Arpechim Pitesti. The Government, on the other hand, doesn’t particularly fancy – sources say – the sale of Conpet and Oil Terminal and TISE wouldn’t be interested in just Oltchim.
