Three in a Basement”/Tretiea mesciankaia”, directed by Abram Room, will be screened at Eforie Cinematheque, Bucharest, 8.00 pm, in the 2nd  “Vanguard Revisited” program on Russian and Soviet vanguard, according to a release quoted by Mediafax. The 1927 feature film is a landmark fiction silent film based on a script written by Abram Room and Viktor Sklovski. The film tells the story of a young married couple living in a small Moscow apartment. An old friend of the husband, Kolea, arrives in the city, and, since he’s unable to find himself a place to live, he is invited by Kolea to move in with them. While Kolea is away, the sensual Liuda and handsome Volodea have an affair. Kolea’s initial outrage turns into complacency and the three carry on their three-some until Liuda tells them she’s pregnant.
