Lekkerland closes company in Romania

German company Lekkerland operating in the distribution of fast-moving consumer goods to convenience stores and petrol stations has closed its operations in Romania represented by Lekkerland Convenience Distributie after seven years. At the end of 2012, Lekkerland made the decision to close down its Romanian company in April 2013 and also to unbundled operations in the Czech Republic and Poland, a company release reads. Lekkerland came to Romania at the beginning of 2006 when it acquired local distributor Macromex Convenience. Finance Ministry held data shows Lekkerland Convenience Distributie posted a turnover of RON 210 M (roughly EUR 50 M) for 2011, higher by 19.7 per cent than the year before, and net profit of RON 420,000, following over RON 7 M reported loss for 2010. The average number of employees of the company was 115.
