US OGE’s Fox appreciate ANI’s impact on consolidating integrity in Romania

The activity and impact of Romania’s National Integrity Agency (ANI) in the consolidation of integrity in Romania has been appreciated by Principal Deputy Director of the United States Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Don Fox at a meeting with ANI officials, Agerpres reports.  ANI reports in a press release that the leadership of ANI on Tuesday welcomed OGE Principal Deputy Director Fox on an official visit, and that Fox was mainly interested in seeking good practices to share between the two institutions with similar attributes, as well as in the working procedures followed by integrity inspectors in their assessment of wealth declarations and declarations of interest. ‘After talks, the deputy director of the United States Office of Government Ethics Fox commended ANI for its activity and impact on the consolidation of integrity in Romania. Also discussed at the meeting were transparency in wealth declarations and declarations of interest, identifying common points of the counterpart institutions, the results of ANI in preventing and fighting against corruption through administrative means, the penalisation of conflicts of interest in Romania and the US,’ reads the release.
