Extraordinary session of the Parliament, on July 1 and 2

The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Valeriu Zgonea announced Wednesday evening that the Lower House will be convoked on extraordinary session next week, Monday and Tuesday, in order to debate the draft law on the enactment of the Criminal Procedure Code. “I agreed with the leaders of parliamentary groups that the chairman of the Law Committee will continue to discuss on the draft law for the enforcement of Law 135 trying to reach a consensus within the political parliamentary groups. We call an extraordinary session Monday and Tuesday, without political statements, only for this draft law,” Zgonea said, quoted by adevarul.ro. He added that the Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies will be summoned Monday, at 1.30 PM. Previously, Zgonea had said in the plenum of the Parliament that he will summon an extraordinary session of the Lower House because deputies were unable to agree, Wednesday, over the articles of the draft law that will enact the new Criminal Procedure Code.
