TIFF Film Caravan goes to 13 Romanian cities

Multi awarded films including “Blancanieves”, directed by Pablo Berger, and “Child’s Pose”, by Calin Netzer, will be screened during the  TIFF Caravan / Operation Kino, July-September in 13 Romanian cities as follows: Buzau, Timisoara, Oradea, Bistrita, Suceava, Falticeni, Iasi, Roman, Bacau, Galati, Focsani, Brasov and Deva.
The film caravan will also show motion pictures that enjoyed great success at TIFF, among which “Prince Avalanche” for which director David Gordon Green got the Silver Bear for Best Director 2013, “Snow White / Blancanieves” (director Pablo Berger), which won 10  Goya awards and was Spain’s nomination for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and “An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker” (director Danis Tanovic), a heartfelt drama that got the special jury award and the Silver Bear for Best Actor 2013.
“Child’s Pose” (director Calin Peter Netzer), “and Chasing rainbows”, the third feature film directed by Dan Chisu, and “Happy Funerals” (director Horatiu Malaele) are among the Romanian films in the caravan program.
The caravan stops will be as follows: Buzau (July 1 – 3, Youth Park), Timisoara (July 12 – 14) and Oradea (July 15 – 17).
The TIFF Film Caravan /Operation Kino is a project organized by the Romanian Film Promotion Association together with the festivals of Sofia, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Odessa and Reelport and with support from the MEDIA Mundus program of the European Union. The caravan sets out to bring to public attention successful productions from EU and non-EU countries.
