Premier Victor Ponta said that he does not rule out becoming interim minister of Transport if Relu Fenechiu is sentenced by court on July 4, but he added that he would regret if Fenechiu were replaced. Answering a question, Monday evening, on Romania TV, about the possibility that he takes over the interim mandate of Transport, the premier answered that he does not rule out this variant. “I do not rule out this variant, but I admit that I would want to have an interim mandate as brief as possible,” Ponta stated. He added that the portfolio of Transport goes to PNL. Both Ponta and PNL president Crin Antonescu said on several occasions that they hope that the court will drop all charges against Relu Fenechiu on July 4, but he will be replaced as minister if judges will find him guilty.
