Obligation to hold public tenders, almost eliminated

The modifications operated by the Parliament to the system of public acquisitions exempts from the obligation to organise tenders certain state companies and corporations, which the government initially introduced in the category of contracting authorities, ANRMAP informs, quoted by Mediafax. Until January 1, 2013 the mandatory character of conducting procedures of public acquisition only referred to certain national companies and autonomous corporations, only if they ranged within the provisions of articles 8 or 9 of OU 34/2006 regarding the system of public acquisition procedures. The leader of PNL deputies, Andrei Gerea said yesterday that removing this obligation returned things to the previous situation and righted an injustice made at the beginning of the year. In his turn, the leader of the PDL group in the Chamber of Deputies, Mircea Toader believes that it will open the door to “deals arranged under the table.”
