President Basescu, Patriarch Daniel invited in Kiev

President Traian Basescu and Patriarch Daniel were invited by Ukrainian authorities to attend the celebrations dedicated to 1025 years from the Christianization of Kievan Russia, scheduled for July 27-28, an official of the Ukrainian Embassy in Bucharest announced.
The Romanian Orthodox Church confirmed the presence on this occasion of Metropolitan Iosif of Western and Southern Europe, while the presidency is still in talks about the level of representation, said Teofil Rendiuk, minister-counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine to Romania.
The Ukrainian ambassador in Bucharest, Teofil Bauer informed that Kiev asks Romanian authority to grant for free the visas to Ukrainian citizens and to increase to 5 years the stay duration, up from 6 months now.
