Third “TeatROmania emersioni sceniche” Theater Festival

The third “TeatROmania emersioni sceniche” Italian-Romanian Theater festival will take place at Accademia di Romania – Villa Borghese, July 11-14. “This not only about hosting a series of theater shows from abroad or the East, but also about bringing on the same stage artists from various conventional theaters able to offer the Rome public quality  cultural events ,” quoted a press release as saying.
According to Accademia di Romania, the 2013 festival sets out to shore up the Rome summer season initiative dedicated to intercultural dialogue and the pluralism of stage presentations.
The event this year contains six shows performed on four consecutive evenings. The festival will open Thursday, July 11, with two Romanian independent theatric productions, “Da quando sono al mondo” (“Since I’ve been born”), is a production of harmonic screenplays on original texts by Emil Cioran. Also, “Hunger Songs” by the group Sourcing Within, with excerpts from the volume “The Language of Birds” (“La lingua degli ucceli”) by Andrei Plesu, with Bulgarian musician Nickolai Nickolov, actress Francesca Netto and Singapore artist Gey Ping Ang. On Friday, July 12, Accademia di Romania will be hosting the Wasabi Company of Milan led by young  Italian-Romanian director Vlad Scolari, with the concert show “Verso un’altra fiamma“ (“Another flame”) which draws from the work of Panait Istrati presenting the ideological disillusion and testimony of the first abuses committed by the Soviet regime. “Donne sole” (“Single Women”), the Eliza Noemi Judeu one-woman show takes the stage on July 13. Based on a text by Dario Fo and Franca Rame and directed by Geo Balint, it deals with the dramatic issue of woman’s condition today.
Two texts by contemporary playwright Matei Visniec,  “L’illusionista” (“The Illusionist”), a new production of Toscana company Telluris Associati din Pontedera, and the Western Theater of Resita’s Dan Mirea one-man show “La luce del buio” (“The Light of Darkness”) will draw the curtain on the event.
