Free guided tours at Bucharest’s Museum of Art Collections July 13 and 26

The Museum of Art Collections Bucharest is organizing free guided tours on July 13 and 26 dedicated to “Jewelry and silverware from the Beatrice and Hrandt Avakian collection”, according to a release conveyed to Mediafax. The museum, a unique presence in the Romanian cultural landscape, joins a series of valuable collections of various art objects donated over time by Romanian collectors, cultural personalities. The museum attempts to recreate the original atmosphere of each such collection and also present collectors’ personality and activity. Beatrice and Hrandt Avakian independently gathered the items that made the collection, however both showing a propensity for Oriental art explained by the family hailing from Syria. Their collection makes up a complex ensemble of Romanian, European and Oriental art objects dominated by valuable Far-East art pieces.
