Vosganian: Mexico is a priority of Romania’s trade policy in 2013

Mexico is the first objective in the area of Latin America in terms of trade policy priorities in 2013, Romanian Economy Minister Varujan Vosganian believes, saying that it is important for Romania to expand its economic relations outside the European Union. According to an Economy Ministry release, Minister Vosganian, who is heading an economic mission in Mexico for the promotion of the shipping industry, has had meetings with governmental officials, among whom Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo Villareal, Foreign Affairs Minister Jose Antonio Meade Kuribrena, the Mexican National Chamber of Commerce President, representatives of some Mexican companies with potential of developing some new commercial and economic operations with Romania. According to Vosganian, the interest of the Mexican partners was also an increased one, the attraction points for possible investors being a competitive taxation level (16 per cent), as well as the strategic geographic position at the entrance to Eastern Europe and Russia in particular, one of the largest markets in the region.
