LeasePlan Romania posts 9.4 pc turnover increase in H1

LeasePlan Romania posted for the first half of 2013 a turnover of EUR 20.9 M, up 9.4 pc against the same interval of last year. The company also announced a similar increase of its portfolio – 9.1 pc against the first six months of 2012 – which reached EUR 71.9 M. At the end of the first half of this year, the total number of vehicles administered by LeasePlan amounted to 7,575, up 10.3 pc against a year ago, the company operating an own fleet of 6,760 vehicles. “The increase posted by LeasePlan is moderate, against the background of a low number of opportunities in the first half of the year. This is caused by the reduction of population’s consumption which, in cascade, also affects the companies that own auto fleets, and is confirmed by the significant decline of the market for new cars (-26 pc in H1). Additionally, the operational leasing market was hit by the legislation changes operated in the first half of the year: limiting the deductibility with cost recouping and the enforcement of the environment stamp,” explained Bogdan Apahidean, CEO LeasePlan Romania.
