‘Welcome to Paradise’ exhibition – Black and White paintings by Zoita Delia Calinescu

Visual artist Zoita Delia Calinescu’s paintings from the series “Welcome to paradise” are being displayed in central Bucharest (Piata Victoriei, Tower Center – 15-17 Ion Mihalache Blvd.). These paintings are much more than mere “acrylic on canvas”, as her techniques (stencil, spray, or paste-up) are usually seen in street-art. Zoita says she is always changing her painting techniques. “I never stick to one thing; I use all the techniques: that’s why one second I love stencil, the next it’s all about organic art, and the next, video cameras or paper… I think of stencil as a one-time fling,” the artist stated. Painting is Zoita’s main means of expression, but she loves to set challenges for herself by experimenting with various techniques.
