POSDRU councilor sued for requesting over EUR 116,000 worth of bribe

One of the deputy councilors for the Department for Verification of Funded Projects within OIR-POSDRU (regional intermediate body for Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development) – Southwestern Oltenia Region was sued by DNA (National Anticorruption Directorate) for requesting over EUR 116,000 in exchange for the approval of reimbursement requests related to the projects he was overseeing. Prosecutors at DNA Craiova charged Dalina Aitana Bodgan, deputy councilor at the Department for Verification of Funded Projects within OIR POSDRU – Southwestern Oltenia Region with taking bribe in continued form. According to the indictment, in February 2013 she claimed a total of RON 512,425.08 (the equivalent of EUR 116,869.54) representing 10% of the value of reimbursement requests from representatives of a company receiving European funds. The money was requested indirectly, by means of project managers, who are also the informers. The case is to be tried at the Court of Law in Dolj.
