A helicopter crashed, Monday evening, in the Taureni Lake area, in the Mures County, five people losing their lives and one, a woman, being injured. The woman was hospitalized at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Targu Mures County Emergency Hospital.
The businessman Sorin Tebea was in the crashed helicopter, together with other three German businessmen, an employee and the pilot. The helicopter crashed minutes after takeoff, the Taureni mayor, Ovidiu Petru Oltean, said, quoted by Mediafax. He stated that Sorin Tebea and the German businessmen had visited, Monday afternoon, the local furniture factory. According to him, the aircraft crashed into the lake three or four minutes after takeoff, about 200 m away from the place it had left. Sorin Tebea was the representative of the futsal clubs in the Executive Committee of FRF and the owner of the Cityu’s Targu Mures club. In May 2013, the businessman Sorin Tebea was acquitted in a corruption case in arbitration, in which he was accused of repeated bribery, by a decision of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, but the decision was not final. Together with him, the former referees’ chief Vasile Avram was acquitted too, for repeated bribery and false documents.
The crashed helicopter was pulled from the water on Tuesday by the intervention helicopter sent by MAI, the wreck being taken to a nearby course, after the operation was hampered by strong winds. According to the spokesman of the Mures Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), Mihai Gagyi, the last victim of the helicopter crash was found on Tuesday, around 8:10 a.m., at about ten meters from the helicopter which was still in water.
