Coroner results: three victims of helicopter crash died due to trauma and two drowned

The preliminary results of experts at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) in Targu Mures, which were also submitted to the prosecutors, revealed that three of the deceased in the helicopter crash at Taureni Lake, Mures County one week ago died due to trauma and the other two drowned. “We received provisional conclusions from IML in Targu Mures, but we still do not have a findings report. With regard to the cause of death, it has been established that three of the victims died due to traumatic lesions caused by impact and two drowned”, Maria Maris, the spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Court of Appeal in Targu Mures stated, as cited by Mediafax. She has refused to specify the cause of death for each of the victims. According to Maris, findings have been reported by the representatives of IML in Targu Mures, witnesses have been questioned on Thursday and Friday – including the sole survivor of the crash – and a technical and scientific expertise has been commissioned at CIAS (Civil Aviation Safety Investigation and Analysis Centre) in Brasov, which will establish why the helicopter crashed. We remind our readers that following the accident that occurred one week ago, five persons died and one person was injured. The helicopter was carrying businessman Sorin Tebea, one of his employees (the sole survivor), three German citizens and the pilot.
