Counsellor to the President Sebastian Lazaroiu, one of the founders of Miscarea Populara (People’s Movement Foundation) stated yesterday at a press conference in Iasi that the USL government will experience “trying times” in the fall, even within the union itself, and there is a possibility of establishing a new Chamber.
“There are USL MPs, like Mr Rosca Stanescu, who are dissatisfied with how government leaders are treating them. There is a lot of unhappiness and such failures cannot be kept secret. They cannot blame Basescu for CFR Marfa or for not going through with the regionalisation. People will not believe them if they do. And neither will their party colleagues. We may form a new Chamber,” Lazaroiu said, as cited by Mediafax.
On the other hand, Lazaroiu stated that “Victor Ponta is not the only one on the beach in Miami; PNL leader Crin Antonescu is there too”. He pointed out that they “must be planning something, maybe a castling move between the President and the PM” or else they would not have travelled so far away. Asked by journalists if he has concrete information confirming that the two USL leaders are spending their vacation together, Lazaroiu replied: “Miami is not big enough for them not to meet”.
The press conference in Iasi was also attended by PMP (People’s Movement Party) leaders Eugen Tomac and Teodor Baconschi, as well as Marian Preda, chairman of the People’s Movement Foundation.
