The new changed brought to the Traffic Code are particularly related to prohibitions and obligations concerning both cyclists and moped drivers. The new legislation also stipulates that B, BE, C or CE category licensed drivers can also drive tractors (Tr). “B category licensed drivers are allowed to drive tractors weighing a maximum of 3.5 tons plus the weight of the towing device and C category licensed drivers are allowed to drive even larger tractors”, Road Traffic experts stated, according to the newspaper “Adevarul”. The legislative amendments also refer to a different category of road users: cyclists. “More precisely, once the new legal provisions are in effect, cyclists will have to travel in single file on the lane and will be allowed to use crosswalks”, representatives at the Road Traffic Directorate pointed out. Moreover, cyclists must have ID on them while travelling on public roads.
