Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea advanced to the 21st in the WTA rankings of the world top-30 tennis players, made public, on Monday, and this is the best rank of her career, so far, after she played the Toronto Tournament finals. Cirstea was defeated by US Serena Williams 6-2, 6-0, succeeded a six position leap and she became the best ranked Romanian tennis player in the WTA rankings. She comes before Simona Halep who came down two ranks, on the 25th. Monica Niculescu still ranks the 43rd , Irina Begu advanced four positions to the 71st, while Alexandra Cadantu is still the 74th. Serena Williams is the leader of the WTA ranking, followed by Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova.
