“The Major”, directed by Yuri Bykov, wins Anonimul Trophy

The retrospective of Anonimul 10 will take place at Cinema Studio in Bucharest between 30 August and 1 September.

According to, at Saturday’s Closing Gala of the 10th edition of Anonimul Film Festival, “The Major”, directed by Yuri Bykov was announced winner of the feature film section of the competition and the director was awarded Anonimul 2013 Trophy. The cited source also notes that “Tarazoo”, directed by Ramin Rahbar won Best Short Film Animation. Director Bodgan Muresan won the Public’s Award for Best Fictional Short Film with “Tuns, ras si frezat” (Hair cut, shaved and styled) and director Gheorghe Preda won the “Ovidiu Bose Pastina” Award – offered by Anonimul Foundation – with “Vaca finlandeza” (Finnish cow).
At the same Saturday night Gala, Daniel Sandu received a Special Award for “Vocea a doua” (Second voice). All the awards for feature films and short films were given based on the votes of audience members in Sf. Gheorghe (Danube Delta), where the festival took place.
At the end of Anonimul Festival, Valentin Hotea made his feature film debut with “Roxanne”, which was showcased in Romania for the first time. The film will be available in cinemas throughout the country as of October 11.
“Roxanne” was selected for the ‘Cineasti del presente’ section at the International Film Festival at Locarno, where it premiered internationally on August 16. The cast includes Serban Pavlu, Diana Dumbrava, Mihai Calin, Valeria Seciu0th edition of Anonimul International Independent Film Festival was held August 9-18 in Sfantu Gheorghe, in the Danube Delta and showcased over 100 films.
