The activity of the plant and of the logistical platform at Mioveni generated 7.7 per cent of Romania’s exports last year.
The production of the Dacia Company is closing in on the 5 million auto vehicles mark 45 years since the first auto vehicle produced by Dacia came out of the production lines of the plant based in Mioveni, Arges County, on August 20, 1968. According to the company’s data, at the end of 2012 the production of the auto plant in Mioveni totaled 4.585 million auto vehicles, capital.ro informs. Its production capacity stands at 350,000 cars per year. The Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA) data shows that in Q1 of last year the production totaled 63,735 Dacia Duster cars, 62,957 Dacia Sandero cars and 54,227 Dacia Logan cars. The 5 millionth auto vehicle will most likely come out of the production lines in early 2014.
Dacia produced 1.959 million Dacia 1300/1310 vehicles and derivative models (break, sport), 319,000 pick-up trucks, 38,000 Nova auto vehicles, 60,000 SuperNova auto vehicles, 79,000 Solenzas and approximately 2.3 million Logan, Sandero and Duster auto vehicles.
Likewise, the activity of the Dacia plant and of the logistical platform in Muoveni generated 7.7 per cent of Romania’s exports last year. This performance puts Dacia at the top of the country’s exporting companies. In 2012, 93 per cent of the plant’s production was exported. At the same time, approximately 70 per cent of the production was exported to plants belonging to the Renault Group. Over 7.5 million cubic meters of spare parts were exported through the Dacia Logistics Directorate from 2005 until now.
On the other hand, the total funds that Renault invested in Dacia, over EUR 1.6 bln, contributed to making Dacia one of the most important companies in the Romanian economy, having a significant contribution to the gross internal product and the country’s exports. Since the opening of the Renault Industrie Roumanie – International Logistics Network (RIR-ILN) center in 2005 the total volume of spare parts shipped allowed the construction of 2,385,000 vehicles in Renault Group’s other plants.
