WHO: Romania at the lower end of EU ranking on investments in health system

A recent study conducted by the World Health Organisation on the amounts of money governments invest in the health system shows that Romania invests only USD 500 per capita every year. This figure places Romania among the last countries in the European Union, well below Western European countries and countries such as Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria. “We are at the lower end of the ranking on the solidity of our health system, which is very alarming”, chairman of MediHelp International Zahal Levy stated. According to the study, one possible solution for Romanians would be private health insurance, which provides international medical care.
