Art Collections Museum – 35 years of existence

The Art Collections Museum, a landmark of the Bucharest cultural landscape, inaugurated in 1978 as a section of the Art Museum of RSR (currently the National Art Museum of Romania) yesterday celebrated 35 years of existence.
The Art Collections Museum formally opened on June 3 at the Romanit Palace on Calea Victoriei Avenue. The museum, which could be visited for the last time in 1986, was subject to a large-scale process of consolidation and restoration of the building, which continued with the restoration of important works of the museum’s patrimony. The institution displays famous paintings of Theodor Aman, Nicolae Grigorescu, Gheorghe Patrascu, Theodor Pallady, Lucian Grigorescu, Iosif Iser, Camil Ressu, Francisc Sirato, Alexandru Ciucurencu, Dimitrie Ghiata.
