Economic growth conditions salary increase in 2014

A possible salary increase in 2014 will be conditioned by the existence of economic growth and will mainly cover inflation, Labour, Family, Social Protection and Elderly Persons Minister Mariana Campeanu told Antena 3 television channel on Tuesday.
Minister Delegate for Budget Liviu Voinea has recently said that the budget for next year will widely provide a 4 per cent pension indexation and the indexation of the total salary fund, underscoring that the authorities are working on several options for the distribution of the increase in the total salary fund.
‘We plan to ground the budget for 2014 on the gradual implementing of the single pay law. We are taking into account several options through which, possibly, for certain public employees we can implement their getting closer to the maximum level (provided in the single pay law) faster than for other categories. Until the draw up of the budget law, in early October, we shall make a decision on the optimal alternative for the salary increase,’ the Minister Delegate for Budget also said.
