Dancu: Candidate Antonescu, a risk for PSD

The social-democrats are no longer sure that PNL leader Crin Antonescu could bring them victory in the presidential elections of 2014. If he will not rank in opinion polls right behind PSD leader Victor Ponta, the social-democrats would not risk entering the presidential race with Crin Antonescu, sociologist Vasile Dancu claims in an interview with www. pesurse.ro. “Crin Antonescu currently is at a voting intention around the middle of USL. USL has around 60 pc, Crin Antonescu has roughly 30 pc on an open question,” Dancu said, adding that this is a problem for the supporters of PSD, because people want in campaign a candidate with the highest chances to win. As a consequence, if he will not improve his electoral score this year, Crin Antonescu could be defeated in the second ballot of the presidential elections, Dancu added. “It is hard to suppose that, if Crin Antonescu will not be in the top immediately under Victor Ponta, if he does not reach a score close to that of Victor Ponta, I do not think that PSD will risk with Crin Antonescu,” Dancu added. The sociologist believes that USL must not give up the plan B. “The reserve solution for USL would be Victor Ponta, the man with the peak confidence score,” Dancu added.
