Director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art Mihai Oroveanu dies

Art historian and curator, as well as director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC) in Bucharest died Saturday at the age of 66, close friends stated, as cited by Mediafax. According to the cited sources, Mihai Oroveanu had been hospitalised in Bucharest after he had had a heart attack at the start of last week. Born on 20 September 1946 in Bucharest, Oroveanu was one of the best known and enduring directors of a Romanian museum. Art historian, photographer, curator and art collector, Mihai Oroveanu was also a connoisseur of international contemporary art.
