As many as 91.27 per cent of Romania’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are self-funded, Chairman of the National Council of Romania’s Privately-Owned SMEs (CNIPMMR) Ovidiu Nicolescu told a press conference on Tuesday, according to Agerpres. ‘The findings in a survey of 1,858 enterprises from around the country indicate that 91.27 per cent of Romania’s SMEs are self-funded. Their percentage increased by 16.37 per cent over the past year, while bank loans dropped by 5 per cent at the same time,’ said Nicolescu. In order to remedy the situation, CNIPMMR has unveiled a set of eight proposals.
