The child bitten by the stray dogs has hundreds of wounds

The inquiry in the case of the child killed on Monday by stray dogs in the Tei Park area in Bucharest is underway. After the autopsy was done, it was discovered that the four years old child who was bitten by the dogs died because of an external bleeding, hundreds of wounds being found on his body. The doctor who did the autopsy, Abdo Salem, from the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, said that only on the feet of the child there were no bites, but there were hundreds of wounds everywhere else on the body and he also said that “the child looked like a prey”. Extremely emotional, the doctor said that this is already the third case of a human bitten by stray dogs in Bucharest. “We have to reconsider everything about these dogs. We simply cannot live in a town that has 60,000 stray dogs”.
The investigators took samples from all the six dogs that were taken on Monday from the Tei Park area in Bucharest and those will be compared to the DNA of the four years old child who was killed to determine which of the animals bit him, sources inside the Police say, quoted by Mediafax.
The second district administration will check the company on the property of which the child was killed, after they identify the owner, because in the database the land belongs to Laguna Tei, yet the company has transferred part of its land. “For the time being, we are still trying to identify the owner and we are looking for him with the help of the Local Police. We have to find him, because, in his absence, we cannot enter that area for investigating”, the Second District Administration spokesman, Anatol Albu, said.
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu Zgonea, said yesterday that he will require an urgent debate on the draft law on stray dogs, that was given to the Committee for Administration and that he will discuss this subject with Victor Ponta.
In the meantime, yesterday, the Authority for the Supervision and Protection of Animals revealed that the dogs that killed the four-year boy belonged to the Caleidoscop Foundation NGO.
PDL attacks USL on stray dogs law
PDL Bucharest yesterday expressed its regret that “USL has not really understood the problem of stray dogs until a 4 year old child was killed.”
PDL Bucharest Organization said in a press release that, until a legislative amendment shall solve the problem of stray dogs, this obligation belongs exclusively to the general mayor of the city, the Democrat Liberals recalling that the law allowing euthanasia of dogs was blocked by USL, which attacked it at the Constitutional Court.
”PDL Bucharest expresses its indignation at the statements of the President of the Chamber of Deputies that the law of stray dogs was blocked by the local administration. Mr. Zgonea seems to forget that during the last parliamentary term, PDL voted a law which USL attacked at the Constitutional Court. USL’s attack had beneath the electoral agreement concluded with some NGOs who wanted to block the law, agreement which was signed by Ponta and Antonescu, on behalf of USL!,” reads the press release.
However, PDL stated that it supports in the parliament any project which will solve the problem of stray dogs in Bucharest.
Things remain unchanged in Tei Park
According to Hotnews.ro, only one day after the tragedy, everything was the same in the Tei Park. The stray dogs were further walking unhindered, by the playground, and the fence that separates the park from the land where the little boy was killed remains insecure.
