Daniel Barenboim congratulates George Enescu Philharmonic Choir in a personal letter

Director and piano player Daniel Barenboim has sent a letter of thanks and congratulations to the George Enescu Philharmonic Choir, together with which he interpreted, in the second day of the George Enescu International Music Festival, ‘Quattro pezzi sacri’ by Giuseppe Verdi, on the scene of the Grand Palace Hall.
To the George Enescu Philarmonic Choir, with gratitude for the wonderful manner in which it interpreted ‘Quattro pezzi sacri’ by Verdi. Congratulations!, said the letter signed by the famous director, according to a release of the press office of the festival.
Maestro Barenboim had performed two extraordinary concerts at the present edition of the George Enescu International Music Festival, the first one on September 1 – in the very opening of the Festival-, and the other one on September 2.
As an admirer of the Romanian Choir, Barenboim said that he wanted even from the previous edition of the Festival to return to Romania to be able to cooperate again with the George Enescu Philharmonic Choir.
Daniel Barenboim is at the same time general music director of Milan’s La Scala theatre Created in 1950, the George Enescu Philharmonic Choir has interpreted all the masterpieces of choral music, from works by Monteverdi and Bach, scores by Haydn and Brahms, to contemporary avangardist opera.
The Philarmonic Choir has already been in the European circuit for many years, having went in many international tours accompanied by great masters of the baton. The Choir already performed in concert halls in Spain, France, Italy, Bulgaria and Greece.
