Ponta above Isarescu in confidence polls

Three recent surveys of CSCI (August 12 to 15), Sociopol (the company founded by Mirel Palada, August 23 to 26) and CSOP (August 24 – September 1) say USL is preferred by almost 60% of the voters’. The CSOP survey shows, according to the newspaper ‘Adevarul’ that PM Victor Ponta has the greatest trust among the voters, even more than the Governor of the National Bank of Romania, Mugur Isarescu, while PNL leader Crin Antonescu decreases to a 17% trust, similar to that of Traian Basescu. In terms of the share of the parties inside the USL (PSD and PNL), CSCI says PSD is at 40% and PNL at 21%, Sociopol gives them 39% (PSD) and 20% (PNL), while in the case of CSOP, the information is not available. The Democrat-liberals are placed at 17% in all three surveys and the People’s Movement is at 3%. The three surveys were conducted before the events that marked the end of summer, namely the child killed by stray dogs and the protests against the Rosia Montana mining project.
