Aerospace industry want to form a joint venture

According to a press release, aerospace industry representatives put up for proposal to the Ministry of Economy to create an integrated and privatized economic structure consisting of all specialized companies and a 10-year program allowing public institutions to purchase helicopters and airplanes. Representatives of state-owned and private capital companies, research institutes and employer’s associations in the field participated in the consultations that took place at the Ministry of Economy headquarters. “The list of requests also includes changing the VAT to 15% and implementing coercive measures against tax evasion, improving Law no. 354/2003 on offset, Eximbank offering support to the Romanian industry, and supplementing the budget for research to at least 1% of GDP. The agenda of aviation industrialists also entails establishing a national strategy regarding the privatization of those economic agents in the aerospace industry sector who have not been privatized”, a press release issued by the institution reports. Moreover, industry representatives also requested that all verification organisms be unified so as to prevent double or repeated controls, and state budget debts be converted into shares. In 2011, 18 specialized companies with approximately 3,400 employees and a total turnover of RON 537 million were active in Romania.
