Industrial production up 6.9 pc in 7 months

The domestic industrial production (gross series) was up 6.9 percent in the seven months of this year as compared to Jan.-July 2012 and by 6.1 percent higher (adjusted series) depending on the number of weekdays and season work, show figures made public by the National Institute for Statistics on Tuesday. The growth was backed by the processing industry (+8.5 percent) and the mining industry (+5.3 percent). The production and supply of electric power and heating, gas, hot water and air conditioning dropped by 5.4 percent, the Institute said. Increases were recorded at most goods categories: the capital goods industry (+11.8 pct), the consumer durables industry (+11.7 percent), the intermediate goods industry (+7.7 percent) and the commodities industry (+3.8 percent). The energy industry dropped by 5 percent, Agerpres reports. The industrial production as adjusted series by the number of weekdays and season work grew Jan. to July thanks to the processing industry (+7.9 percent) and mining (+4.5 percent). The production and supply of electric power and heating, gas, hot water and air conditioning dropped by 5.9 percent. According to the Institute, increases were recorded by major industrial groups, in the capital goods industry (+12.4 percent), the consumer durables industry (+11.7 percent), the intermediate goods industry (+5.5 percent) and the commodities industry (+3.1 percent). The energy industry dropped by 4.7 percent.
