Romania’s population keeps on decreasing

Romania’s population dropped by 539 persons in July 2013, compared to June when it decreased by 4,875 people, the National Statistics Institute (INS) data inform on Tuesday. According to the above-mentioned source, 18,959 children were born in July, by 4,514 more than in June, while 19,498 people died in July, namely by 178 more than in June. The provisory natural growth was negative in July, amounting to 539 deceased scoring a surplus compared to the live births, same as in June, when 4,875 babies are born. ‘As many as 155, namely 8.2 babies younger than one, per 1,000 died in July, the rate dropping compared to June when 8.8 babies younger than one were born alive per 1,000.
