Head of Ilfov Public Finances, detained for bribery

The Executive Director of the Ilfov Public Finances, Claudiu Ristea, was detained yesterday by the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), being accused of receiving 30,000 lei from the manager of a company to approve the unblocking of the account of that company, the bribe being mediated by two of his inspectors, Alexandru Bogdan Filip and Augustin Constantin Murgoci. The prosecutors requested at the Bucharest Court the preventive arrest of Ristea for 29 days. In the case of
Alexandru Bogdan Filip and Augustin Constantin Murgoci, the prosecutors decided only to forbid them to leave the country for a period of 30 days. According to the anticorruption prosecutors, on September 5, Claudiu Ristea accepted the promise of the manager of a company (the informer) to give him a sum between 20,000 and 30,000 lei in exchange for a signature on the documents required to unblock the company’s account. “The promise got to Ristea Claudiu with the help of the accused inspectors Alexandru Bogdan Filip and Augustin Constantin Murgoci, who told the denouncer about the agreement of the director as well as the fact that he, in exchange for the promise, had already signed the necessary papers in the bank, to lead to the unblocking of the company’s account. The denouncer was supposed to withdraw the amount promised to the director of AJFP Ilfov and to send it with the two inspectors”, a press release of DNBA says.
Alexandru Bogdan Filip and Augustin Constantin Murgoci received on Tuesday, from the administrator of the company the sum of 30,000 lei, according to their prior agreement. The same day, Murgoci gave Ristea the 30,000 and they were caught red-handed.
