Seven years old girl dead in an explosion in Pitesti

An explosion followed by a fire occurred Sunday morning at the fourth floor of a social housing building in the Razboieni quarter of Pitesti, most probably while the woman in a one bedroom apartment was trying to inflate helium balloons, using an improvised installation, in order to sell them later at the fair. Following the explosion and the fire, the 53 years old woman suffered first and second degree burns on 45% of her body and 12 adults and two children were poisoned by smoke. The residents of the building were evacuated. Later, during the intervention, a seven years old girl was found dead by the firefighters in the apartment in which the explosion occurred. The girl was found under a piece of furniture. The firefighters opened an investigation to establish the exact cause of the explosion. The investigators will have to find out if the seven years old girl who died in the explosion was a foster or an adopted child.
