In July 2013, Romania has reported an 8.6 per cent increase in construction work, the highest among European Union countries, considering the increase at EU level was 0.7 per cent and the increase in volume of construction work was 0.3 per cent in the euro area, data provided by Eurostat show. Construction work has increased in nine of the Member States, decreased in four of the Member States and maintained the same level in the Netherlands.According to data collected by INS (the National Institute of Statistics), Romania has experienced a 2.2 per cent decrease in the volume of construction work in the first seven months of 2013, compared to the same period last year; according to data adjusted by the number of workdays and seasonality, the decrease was 4.1 per cent. In July 2013, the volume of construction work increased compared to June by 5 per cent according to raw data and by 8.5 per cent according to data adjusted by the number of workdays and seasonality.
