USL leaders celebrated their birthdays

President Traian Basescu sent to the Prime Minister Victor Ponta, who has reached the age of 41 years on Friday, a basket of 11 white roses with a card that had been signed with the name of the President, without wishes such as “Happy Birthday”, according to Mediafax. The President’s gesture to send roses is of protocol one, repeated also on other occasions, with different personalities. On Friday morning, President Traian Basescu said that he congratulated since Thursday the Prime Minister Victor Ponta for his birthday and that he sent him flowers. The prime minister was celebrated also in Turkey, where he paid an official visit on Thursday, the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Erdogan, organizing a formal dinner where he brought a traditional Turkish music band and asked them to sing “Happy Birthday” to Ponta. He also offered to PM Ponta a cake decorated with the flags of Romania and Turkey. Also, the Liberal leader Crin Antonescu said on Friday that he received from President Traian Basescu, a bunch of roses, although his birthday was on Saturday, stating that he will spend his birthday with his family and that he wishes to “resist to everything”. Asked how he would spend his birthday, Antonescu said that he wants to be with his family. “With God’s help, and if I succeed, with my family,” said Antonescu. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Titus Corl??ean, wished Antonescu “Happy Birthday, good health and many successes”, arguing that in these times, “yet economically and socially complicated for the country” there is need for “political wisdom and joint effort”. “Yesterday (Friday – editorial note) I sent a message to PM Victor Ponta wishing him good health, Happy Birthday and many successes, and may God give him wisdom and strength to do as much good as he can for this country. The same wish I have also for Mr. Antonescu. It takes a lot of political wisdom in these times still economically and socially complicated for this country. They require a joint political effort.
