The film “Rascumpararea evreilor” opens the Jewish Film Festival in Ashkelon

The documentary “Rascumpararea evreilor” (Jews redeeming), directed by Radu Gabrea will open the “Jewish Eye” International Jewish Film Festival in Ashkelon, which will take place October 6 to 11 and which will present a retrospective of the films directed by the Romanian director. The Radu Gabrea retrospective will also include the films “Nu te teme, Jacob!” (“Don’t Be Afraid, Jacob!”), “In cautarea lui Schwartz” (“Looking for Schwartz”), “Calatoria lui Gruber” (“Gruber’s Journey”) and “Cocosul decapitat” (“The Beheaded Rooster”). The screenings will be followed by questions and answers sessions with director Radu Gabrea and the producer, Violeta Cocias. According to a press release sent to Mediafax, the festival marks one hundred years of existence, through a special film selection which presents exciting subjects from the history of the Jews, the Jewish culture and identity and documents events less known to the public.
