2013 SoNoRo UP edition rises to the highest standards



Tickets and subscriptions for the concerts included in the festival to take place in Bucharest are available at promotional prices until October 5.
The eighth edition of the SoNoRo International Chamber Music Festival will take place between November 1 and November 17 in Bucharest, Iasi and Cluj.
The lineup reflects the theme of this year’s edition entitled SoNoRo UP: Vazduh, Aurora, Divin en détail, Golden Birds and Black Angels, De peste munti and Letters from the Sky are just a few of the artists scheduled to perform this November.
In addition to the musicians with whom SoNoRo fans are already acquainted, such as pianists Diana Ketler and Konstantin Lifschitz, violinists Alexander Sitkovetsky, Erik Schumann and Andrej Bielow, violist Christian Nas, horn player Olivier Darbellay or cellists Adrian Brendel and Monika Leskovar, the festival will also include debuts by violinists Ilya Gringolts and Alissa Margulis, violist Maxim Rysanov, cellists Sonia Wieder Atherton and Marcin Sieniawski, Niguna Ensemble from Paris and the Engegard Quartet from Oslo.

SoNoRo has brought chamber music into the focus of Romanian cultural life, integrating Romanian music into a network of high class European festivals. Apart from maintaining collaboration with festivals in Italy, Latvia, Germany, England, Israel and Japan, SoNoRo has also been in some of the most renowned music halls in the world, such as Wigmore Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Vienna, YMCA in Jerusalem and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Last year’s edition, “Love Unlimited” translated in over 8,000 viewers, 17 concerts in four towns and over 35 international artists, a new SoNoRo Arezzo edition and newly established editions in Athens and Istanbul.
