Ikebana professor Sanda Lazur honored with Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Commendation



Ikebana professor Sanda Lazur of Bucharest is one of this year’s recipients of the Japanese Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Commendation that is awarded annually to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, as an acknowledgement of their contribution to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries. Sanda Lazur is the third Romanian personality to receive this distinction offered by the Japanese government, a press release of the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest informs. In over 30 years of activity in the art of floral arrangements Sanda Lazur has popularized Ikbana among Romanians, helping shape the public’s taste and sensitivity to beauty and training several generations of specialists in the field. The Embassy of Japan in Romania will hold tomorrow, October 1, a ceremony where Sanda Lazur will be presented with the award. The ceremony will take place at the residence of Japanese Ambassador in Bucharest, Keiji Yamamoto.
