Orange code rain warning for Bucharest and 8 south-eastern counties

Bucharest and the counties of Ilfov, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi, Ialomita, Braila, Tulcea and Constanta will be, from today at 9.00 PM until Wednesday at 2.00 AM, under an orange code rain warning, with precipitations expected to reach 80 liters/square metre, the National Weather Administration (ANM) informs. During this interval, weather will become significantly colder, especially outside the Carpathians and in central regions, with temperatures approximately 10 degrees Celsius lower than usual for this time of the year, ANM warns. Weather experts also issued two yellow code rain warnings, in effect starting Sunday evening, for southern Romania. “The counties of Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov – including Bucharest -, Calarasi, Ialomita Braila, Constanta and Tulcea will see abundant rain and large amounts of water that will exceed 60 l/sq.m. on large areas and 80 l/sq.m. in spots,” ANM informs.
