Another earthquake occurred in Galati yesterday morning

An earthquake with the magnitude of 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale occurred yesterday morning in Moldova region, in Galati (eastern Romania), according to the data released on the website of the National Institute for Earth’s Physics (INFP). The earthquake occurred at 8:02 local time, at a 5-kilometre depth, with the epicenter intensity III on Mercali scale.Since the beginning of September, 21 earthquakes occurred in Romania, in Vrancea (eastern Romania), in Transilvania area (Hunedoara, western Romania) and Moldova (Galati). Nine earthquakes out of the 21 occurred in Galati. Prime Minister Victor Ponta said yesterday at the meeting for emergency situations organized due to the recent weather warnings that the situation of the earthquakes which took place lately in Galati is monitored by the authorities and that there is no reason to panic.
The reoresentatives of Galati Prefecture said yesterday that they are waiting in two weeks time the results from the specialists of INFP who have installed equipment in the Slobozia Conachi – Izvoarele area, where in September were registered nine earthquakes and that they are “on alert” and that the problem is treated in a serius manner.
