Orange Romania expands 4G networks throughout the capital

Orange Romania has expanded the 4G (fourth generation) telecommunications network coverage throughout the entire capital, enabling signal in all areas, not just central and northern Bucharest, the mobile telephone operator announced.
“Beginning this fall, all Orange clients, subscribers or Orange PrePay card users will have access to 4G speed internet services, both through compatible tariff plans and personalized options. Thus, Orange PrePay clients will become the first prepaid card users in Romania to surf the internet at 4G speeds,” a press release notes.
Orange clients can also purchase 4G compatible smartphones and tablets: Nokia Lumia 625 for EUR 49 and Blackberry Q5 for EUR 129 with Panther 23, Samsung Galaxy SIII 4G for EUR 0 with Business Open 45, Samsung Galaxy S4 for EUR 0 with Business Open 65 and the tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 4G for EUR 399 with Colibri Explore 15 subscription. Prices are VAT inclusive and are valid upon activation or 2-year extension of respective subscriptions.
Currently, Orange provides 4G coverage in Bucharest and the northern metropolitan area, as well as mountain resorts in Valea Prahovei, where internet speed can reach up to 75 Mbps for downloads and 37.5 Mbps for uploads.
“(…) We will continue investing in the upcoming future to expand 4G coverage while still maintain service quality,” Jean-Francois Fallacher, Chief Executive Officer of Orange Romania stated.
