Minister Delegate for Infrastructure Projects Dan Sova said yesterday that he came with the idea that the fines for not paying the road vignette should be transferred from the Road Company to the Finance Ministry, in order to fall under the provisions of the Fiscal Procedure Code, pointing out that there are over one million fines of such kind not paid over the last three years, Agerpres informs. “The initiative is a result of a calculation made by taking into account some CNADNR indicators to calculate the vignette price and based on the requirements of the Finance Ministry. I cannot say for sure if the increase will remain 60 per cent. It’s true that the vignette per year surges from 28 to 32 (euros – editor’s note), considering the proposal tabled by CNADNR. But the increase in general is valid for the drivers buying the 7 or 10 day vignette. It does not affect the Romanian citizens owning a car, but the commercial vehicles in transit on Romania’s territory. These vignettes should be increased, as the tariffs are very low compared to any other EU member state,” Sova said.
