COSMOTE expands the 4G coverage in Bucharest

COSMOTE Romania continues its 4G network expansion, covering, starting this month, 90 percent of the Capital, alongside Otopeni, Ploiesti, Cluj, Iasi, Sinaia, Busteni and Predeal and introducing in its portfolio, alongside modems, mobile handsets allowing 4G access, a press release informs. The 4th generation network allows download speeds of up to 75 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 37.5 Mbps.
The customers choosing the COSMOTE Free L subscription will benefit of free 4G access, through the activation of Connect Extension+ extraoption, free of charge when opting for a 4G compatible terminal as well. The customers activating any of the other 4G compatible subscriptions will benefit by request of the enablement of Connect Extension+ extraoption, for a 5 euro monthly fee (VAT included). The activation will be done in any COSMOTE & Germanos store, as it requires a 4G dedicated SIM card. SIM replacement is free of charge.
In line with the strategy of gradually offering network enhancements in terms of data speeds, COSMOTE Romania is also offering the best 3G data network with mobile broadband download speeds of up to 43.2 Mbps in 194 cities and over 2500 localities across Romania, covering 60 percent of the population. Moreover, customers can enjoy speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps in HSPA+ technology in 228 cities across the country. Overall, 3G services cover over 76 percent of the Romanian population.
