Asia Fest, first festival of Asian gastronomy and culture in Romania



The first edition of the Asian Gastronomy and Culture Festival, ASIA FEST, will take place over October 18-20, 2013 at the Dalles Gallery (Bucharest, 18 Nicolae Balcescu Blvd). This is the first festival of such kind to be organized in Romania, having the purpose to promote the cultural values and cuisines specific to Asian countries. The Festival includes shows, presentations and cultural workshops, as well as a fair of culinary products from Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, India and Turkey. Industrial and handmade items, food products, art objects, clothing items and ornaments – these are only a few of the attractions of this year’s edition of the fair.
The visitors will have the chance to attend cooking demonstrations and taste Asian food from India, Vietnam, Turkey, South Korea, Japan and China. There will be also presentations of Japanese kimonos, Chinese folk costumes, Korean regional costumes (hanbok), Indian costumes (saris), as well as calligraphy workshops (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi), workshops of cosplay (costume play) and Asiatic-style makeup. Visitors are expected between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and the entrance is free of charge.
Tea&Coffee Festival kicks off on Oct 14 in Bucharest
The 5th edition of the Tea&Coffee Festival will unfold over October 14-20 in Bucharest, with the visitors having the opportunity to attend a series of artistic and culinary events held in tea houses and coffee bars. The festival also includes an exhibition of tea, coffee, delicacies and accessories (dishes, cakes, ornaments) to take place during October 18-20 at the Dalles Gallery (18, Nicolae Balcescu Blvd). The organizers are also planning theatre plays, concerts, dance workshops and demonstrations, visual arts workshops, tea and coffee ceremonies practiced in India, Turkey, Brazil, China, South Korea, Argentina, Great Britain and Japan.
